Lelia joined friends, both old and new, on an unforgettable bus trip to Talwood for the Suncorp Bank Talwood Pink Ladies Day 2024. Held on Friday, August 2nd, in the uniquely beautiful country Queensland town of Talwood, this event was not to be missed. 

The day was packed with fantastic shopping opportunities and inspiring talks from guest speakers, including Natalie Fogarty and local favourite emcee Julie Spicer.

Attendees helped raise funds to support the vital work of Women’s Health Services in the local region. 

For Lelia, the day was particularly special due to her strong connection to rural communities; her mother was a Clifton girl who passed away (too early) in Darwin while receiving treatment out of Sydney for breast cancer under the NT’s Isolated Patients’ Scheme, and her father was a Warwick boy who became a veterinarian. A photograph of a poddy calf caught her eye, a perfect memento to bring home and remind her not only of her time in Talwood but that of her parents. 

Lelia’s experience at Talwood Pink Ladies Day was a blend of community spirit, support for a great cause, and personal nostalgia, making it a day to remember.
